Mehmet the Ishmaelite was a Pahlavi Yazdanized Proto-Karaite warlord who the Bakr Taji of Tachkastan. His name is Persian meaning Dead Moon because of the Blood-Moon which occurred around the time of his birth[1]. Because his paternal Grandfather was Jewish, Mehmet was considered Zera Israel (Bani Israel in Arabic). He might have been identical with Iyas ibn Qabisa.
