Pata or Pota was a descendant of Romaniote Jews in ancient Ashkenaz and was the Jewish E-Y6938 MRCA nephew of Edemen and Ed being the son of Ashkenaz and their Varkunite sister and grandson of their Father Csaba and his Hvariz wife. He was born after the migration of the Hvariz from Hvarez into Causasian Albania but before 500CE.It was through Pata that Csaba became the ancestor of the Aba clan.

It was thanks to people like Pata that the Hungarians claimed Magyor as an adopted brother of Hunor and as a maternal ancestor of Attila. Magyor means mixed people who were related to the Hunor nobility.
