Quraysh were Harranians who became Hagarim (a kind of Noahite to the proto-Karaites) and finally Muslims in order to rise in power and rule over the Arabs.

Even though they did not consider themselves to be Arabs, they spoke a language which they called "Intelligible Arabic" being the language in which they believed originated certain teachings promoted by Mahmet the Ishmaelite.
