The Teli (התלי) meaning "hanger" is mentioned by Rav Abraham Abulafia in Mafteach HaSh'mot as spiritual powers related to the constellation Draco, the Serpent in the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil whereby Astrology was supposed to be the only talent Dositheus had emphasizing that his power did not come from use of the Holy Name making a connection between Christianity and the Dragon. התלי is also mentioned in the Sefer Yetzirah 6:1 and Job 26:13 and Isaiah 27:1. Rashi's commentary on Isaiah 27:1 also calls it Tzor, the head of the children of Esav situated in the heart of the seas. He also mentions that the Romans are the Kittim who are called the Islands of the Sea. תלי is also mentioned in Beresheit 27:3 as the power of Esav.

The Teli is essentially astrology which will ultimately be redeemed into cosmlogy by the Messiah as the Head of Esav finds a place in the world to come.
