התלי is mentioned by Rav Abraham Abulafia in Mafteach HaSh'mot as related to the constellation Draco, the Serpent in the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil as the true source of the power used by Dositheus emphasizing that his power did not come from use of the Holy Name. It is also mentioned in the Sefer Yetzirah 6:1.
