Umayyad Islam

Umayyad Islam was established by a Mardite known as Abdul Malik ibn Maron. It did not know about any Mecca in Hejaz and used the Temple Mount as its Qibla. It survived in Andalusia until being infiltrated and undermined by Abbasid agents in the 10th century. At that time the last survivors of Abbasid Islam tried to conmect with the Khazars in Moldovian Yasi (now in Romania) before the Khazars were overthrown by the Rus.
