Csaba

Csaba son of Ernak son of Ethele of Dulo and of Emperor Honorius's daughter was a descendant of Hunor son of Menrot son of Tana son of Avitol (Yaftir) son of Togarmah. His wife Arsiya was Hvarezmi. Csaba was the father of the true Avars Ed and Edemen and grandfather to Pota and was therefore also the father of of Bulgarios, Kazarig and Cuman. He was evicted from Europe by Alaric II.

Csaba claimed Magyor as a maternal ancestor of Attila. Magyor means mixed people who were thus related to the Hunor nobility. In the Sabir language Hunor means field dwellers and Magyor means Mountaineers.

Csaba was that ancestor of the True Avars who followed the Pseudoavars Varkhonites who had arrived in Europe before them.
