Shem-Tov ibn Shaprut

Shem Tov (fl. 1375–after 1439) like Elijah Soloveitchik engaged with a Hebrew version of the Gospel of Matthew in 1385 which was also preserved independently by Karaites. It is inconceivable that Karaites who use a version of the Avinu identical to that quoted by Shem Tov, would have taken their prayer directly from Shem tov thereby proving the antiquity of the text.
