Changed "Sunni Religion" to "Sunni Religions" and "Shiite Religion" to "Shiite Religions" - there are too many sects and sub-sects in islam these days. -Kaz

That is one way to go. Another way would be to call them "Relgion" in the singular across the board. --Abrahamson 11:35, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
I didn't know where to put Petrin Sabianism because I haven't had enough time to study it to see if it qualifies as a Noahide faith. Like with Noahide Druze, probably the important aspects would be
  • Observance of the seven laws (which I take for granted they do)
  • Acceptance of Rabbinic tradition and authority in some form, and
  • Establishment of religious & secular courts (or reliance on other's courts)
If they already do these things, then they are a Noahide faith and there would be no "Noahide" variant. --Abrahamson 11:35, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

Either go for super-categories e.g. Christian (no sub-divisions) or go for every subdivision, it is too subjective to go any other way. Petrine Sabianism is a super-category -one of the 70-72 branches of Sabi'ism. God BlessKaz 12:23, 5 July 2007 (EDT)

My hope is to have a rabbinic court rule on actual practiced faiths, so I need to go to the lowest level of detail - "every subdivision". Although in another matter I would be interested in seeing the heirachical relationship of the various religions. All the best --Abrahamson 03:06, 6 July 2007 (EDT)
You know that is the best way to go, but to do it justice, it will take forever. Unless representatives from all these divisions write about their own faiths, there will always be room for appeal with the claim that you did not present their religions accurately. Then we have the problem of mysteries/secrets, since many religions have esoteric doctrines which they keep secret out of fear that thoese who take their religions half-heartedly will be misled by them. How can judgement be passed unless these secret doctrines are exposed to the court? The problem with exposing these secret doctrines is that in many of such religions exposure to them is the same as initiation as high-priest(s), and there are religions (e.g. freemasonry) which might not want the nescent Sanhedrin to be their highpriest(s). But it works well if you are focussed on the sub-divisions and I am focused on the supercategories. I believe that there are 70 or 72 Noahide(Sabi) supercategories and trhat sub-categories/subdivisions claiming to be within one or other of these supercategories, seldom are. E.G. all religions recognising عيسى as the messiah should be sub-categories of petrine sabiism, but when one looks at them one finds that the vast majority of them are outside of the folds of petrine sabiisn (petrine noahidism). In fact when I started looking at the subdivision/subcategories of Petrine Sabiism and it was too depressing as there are so many that have gone off the path they are not within the folds of Petrine Sabiism. What would be better would be for the nascent sanhedrin to rule on the 70 supercategoriews, and then try to see which of the supercategories the faiths fit into. Then if there is a dispute by the members of that faith as to the category you have put them inot they can bring their dispute to the sanhedrin. Eventually this is actually going to be a new science you know. Category claimed by the religion, more suitable Category according to the facts. Kaz 05:19, 11 July 2007 (EDT)
