In Turkey, Cinnioğlu et al. (2004) found slightly more E-M34 (29) than E-M78 (26) out of 523 individuals tested (a far different E1b1b population than found in the nearby Balkans).
The Dulo legend of Hunor and Magor perpetuated among the Hungarians of Arpad (who is given a Turkic genealogy back to the Dulo Kahan Xubrat by Ahmad ibn Fadlan) makes mention of descent from the Nimrodian Iapetus son of Tana. Perhaps we see in this a connection with the Biblical Nimrod of Kush to the legendary Etana of Kish, ancestor of Ur-Zababa.
