I am looking for support for the theory of correspondence between the seven laws and Acts 15. Some questions I would like help in answering are these:
  • What Christian authorities recognize in these verses references to the seven laws.
  • An explanation why two laws seem to be left out
  • Why "abstaining from blood" was substituted from "torn limb"
  • Whether "strangled animal" may in fact refer to homicide or theft.
I would like to provide a possible explanation for the changes in the text from Amos 9:11-12, in the massoretic version, to the Septuagint to the New Testaments version. For example, why the deletion of the conquest of Edom? It may be early Christians were mostly Edomites, descendants of the "forced converts" of the Hasmonean King, Johanan Hyrcanus.
Your thoughts would be appreciated, you can edit the text yourself if you wish. --Abrahamson 07:55, 25 February 2007 (EST)
