Law of Adam

"the prohibition of eating the limb of a living animal". Was this given to Adam or Noach? BillyJDial 05:03, 7 July 2007 (EDT)

The Rambam holds that it was given to Noah. Other opinions in the Gemarra say that it was given to Adam, but because Adam was not permitted to eat meat the law was of no relevance. Others in the Gemarra hold that the prohibition was transformed into or replaced by other distantly related laws. This is a good subject to write about, I thought about discussing it here Prohibition of Limb of a Living Creature, Chart of Maimonides' Noahide Laws or some similar page --Abrahamson 14:14, 7 July 2007 (EDT)
