'''Subbotnik Jews''' are a type of Israeli Jew with [[Karaimite Jew]]ish origins but who have opted to go through an Orthodox Giyur Lechumra without turning their backs on their Subbotnik heritage and have settled in Israel. They are distinct from Talmudist Subbotnik Gerei who reject their Subbotnik heritage in order to assimilate into Hassidic culture.
Subbotnik Jews are sometimes called Karaimite Jews or Russian Karaims. They replaced the Crimean Karaite Turks as Pastors to the Karaimites after the Crimean Karaite Turks were secularizedrejected the Karaimite Jewish religion.
