Rav Eliezer the son of Yoel HaLevi, a member of the Tosafists, lived in Germany from 1140 until 1225. His main work, Avi HaEzri, is a halachic compendium arranged according to the order of the Talmud and utilizing the method of the Tosafists. His teachers were his Grandfather Raavan and the author of the Yereim. Among his students were the Or Zarua and the Rokeiach.
