Their tower is also mentioned in 2 Kings 18.
 
This is probably the earliest oblique reference to the now very well known but so-called "Great Secret" of Gnosticism whereby Gnostics exchange Israel's liberator for the Serpent of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
