According to the Teliya, in 86CE the Sanhedrin decided that it would be best if the Notzrim were dealt with by [[Apollos]]'s dnoctrine so ordered Hakham Elijah (Rav Shimeon HaKalpus) to fulfil Devarim 32 by organising the Ishmaelim in such a way as to make the Notzrim jealous and thereby attract them away from Israel's Qehal to be subsumed into the Torah for Amim instead of invoking HaShem's wrath by continuing to trample the Torah for the Qehal.
As a result, the word Notzrim soon came to be synonymous with Christians.
