The giant '''Nimrod''' (Anu/Caelus/Uranus/Set) son in law to Cush son of Ham and husband was father to Havilah (Gaia/Isis) was the father of and Abraham's servant, [[דַּמֶּשֶׂק אֱלִיעֶזֶר|Damméśeq ʾĔlîʿézer]] and leader of the Dedanim by whom the nations were divided into their languages. He was overthrown by the Horus kings of Ashur who in turn were overthrown by Raamah. In Rabbinical tradition the so-called "Semitic" languages (including the Akkadian one branch of the Afroasiatic languages like ancient Egyptian) were used at his tower of Babel. His name has become proverbial as that of a mighty hunter and progenitor of the post-diluvian Gibborim (Titans). His "kingdom" (called Kish and somewhat semitic in language according to Sumerian records) comprised Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the Arabian peninsula land of Sinar, otherwise known as the land of Nimrod (Gen. x. 8-10; I Chron. i. 10; Micah v. 5 [A. V. 6]).E. G. H. M. Sel. Much of Nimrodia eventually became the Assyrian Empire.
