Mehmet the Ishmaelite was a Pahlavi Yazdanized Proto-Karaite of Tachkastan's Tayyaye and whose existence is corroborated by Numismatic evidence, Thomas the Presbyter and Sebeos. His name is Persian meaning Dead Moon because of the Blood-Moon which occurred around the time of his birth[1]. Because his paternal Grandfather was Jewish, Mehmet was considered Zera Israel (Bani Israel in Arabic). He might have been identical with Iyas ibn Qabisa. He was married by Warakah to Khadijah before Warakah became a Nasrani. Mehmet practiced as a Gnostic (Hanif) in the caves of Al-Hira where he met Khalifah Gabriel al-Kalbi who convinced him to become a Noahite Gnostic.

He somehow became a Muhammad and was promoted by his followers as "MḤMT' PTGMBI Y YZDT" and by many Gnostic Christians as the return of the Gnostic Christian Muhammad. They were opposed in the Quraysh Quran which said no one is Muhammad or Jesus but the Eucharist.
