Hanzalah was appointed by [[Hani ibn Qabisa]] as Rosh Ma'amad of the Monoenergist Edomean-Ishmaelites who united the Lakhmids and other Arabs. He was wed to a Nasri called Khadijah by a Nasri called Waraqa ibn Naufal.
