Ed was the Iverian son of Csaba and the ancestor of the Kazarig peoples. His story was confused in Hungarian legends with the story of his brother Pota's descendant Kotrag the ancestor of Ugyek and Almos who ruled in Bashkortostan according to the Җәгъфәр тарихы.
