What does sebomenoi mean?

Sebomenoi (σεβομενοι) is a Greek word meaning, perhaps, "Oneworshippers" which has been used to describe people with the noahide attitude. People who were called Sebomenoi in the Hellenistic-Roman world were previously known to the Hebrew world as Toshavim and have continued to be know in the Islamic world as the Sabi'een/Sabi'un (صابئين not سبأيين), and thus may legitimately be described in English as Sabians or better Sabis (صابئين, σεβεοι, תושבים).

For a detailed explanation of this history please read through the intensive research of Alberto Fratini and Carlo Prato posted at http://www.ricerchefilosofiche.it/
