HaGarim HaManichayim (the Manichean Tzedekim) were a Messianic-Noahite movement established by a convert to Edumean Judaism called Ibn Abi Kabsha in a 7thC.CE Sassanian realm of Manicheans (Hanifs).

Background

The Khalifah of the Himyarite Jewish Monophysite Banu Kalb promoted the Kenizite Midrashim in the voice of the Archangel Michael for ministers of Edumean congregations which were delivered by his son Gabriel the twin of Dihyah bin Khalifah al-Kalbi. One of those ministers was Ibn Abi Kabsha.

Identification with Hagerim as a'arel "semi-proselyte" like Titus begins with the first ghusul of the Noahite covenant and may progress to mahul "full-proselyte" like Timothy depending on a person's affinity for the Torah.

Christology

The Manichean-Proselyte Christology was Tripartite, Themistian-Monophysitism by believing that the 1stC. Romaniote Rabbi Iesous was a manifestation of Abraham's Visitors, the Mithrean Messianic emanation born of the divine essence (Holy Spirit) albeit constrained to live as a human being in every conceivable way. The tripartite elements were:

  • his Body aspect the Rasul given to his disciples the night before the crucifixion
  • his Spirit aspect the Messiah Son of Mary entered Paradise with Saint Dismas
  • his Appearance aspect the Mahmad temple which came down to be born, seen, crucified, buried and resurrected before ascending to sit at the right hand whence he will return.

As a manifestation of G-d's Word, the Romaniote Rabbi was the Torah which though transformed into a new form since the resurrection can still nevertheless only be related to by studying the Torahs both written and oral.

Ibn Abi Kabsha

Caught between the Judaic Teimani and Manichean Tayyaye, the Ishmaelite-Tzedekim of Ibn Abi Kabsha decided to use the Kenizite Midrashim, to establish unity between Arabs who kept the Laws of Moses and Arabs who believed in the 1stC. Romaniote Rabbi Jesus as a tripartite Messiah.

However, the Sassanian Manicheans (Hanifs) were not impressed by him because he respected the Old Testament while the Torah-observers were not impressed by him because he accepted Jesus as Messiah.

When people first heard his ideas they used to say that he had become a Tsabi -a type of Persian Messianic Hebrew later described in Islam as part way between Adoptionists, Persians and Jews and from which Manicheism itself had originally emerged.

Ibn Abi Kabsha's ideas were preserved by his cousin Abu Turab and Adoptionist ex-Magian friend Salman of Fars.

Development

In time ibn Abi Kabsha's Manichean-Tzedek movement succeeded in Tachkastan with a Sadducee warlord called Mahmet the Ishmaelite who in his old age adopted certain Manichean ideas about Rebbe Yehoshua Minzaret and the Mishnah which Rebbe Yehoshua Minzaret promoted.

Mahmet the Ishmaelite was originally a Tzedek warlord known as Emir Ambrus who rose to prominence in Tachkastan having subjugated the Banu Qabisa. He went on to conquer the Patriarchates of Jerusalem, Antioch and Alexandria where he became renowned for his brutal suppression of the followers of Rebbe Yehoshua Minzaret.

However, it is said that despite the Emir's war-crimes, the Dyophysite Patriarch Sophronius of Jerusalem invited him to pray in the Church of the Sepulchre. Although Emir Ambrus declined, he is said to have asked the Monophysite Syriac Patriarch John of the Sedre to explain the Christian doctrine to him. Following the discussion he ordered a translation of the New Testament to study. After Sophronius died, the Emir installed Abraham I as the first Armenian Monophysite Patriarch over the Patriarchate of Jerusalem. The Emir is also said to have regarded the Coptic Pope Benjamin as the Holiest Man he had ever met.

Under the influence of the three Monophysite Patriarchs of the Oriental Orthodox Church, it seems having consulted an "Arian" Monk called Abu Turab through his translator Salman of Fars. As a result, the Emir took on the name Mahmet in devotion to the crucifixion. He also accepted the Mishnah promoted by Rebbe Yehoshua Minzaret being identified by Monophysites as the Messianic Emanation of the Divine. However, he decided to try and influence his Messianic subjects to accept certain Sadducee ideas (such as the Sadducee calendar) as HaGarim HaManichayim without having to abandon Monophysite Messianism. The Emir's lectures were more popular among the Manicheans of Tachkastan than among the Torah-Observers but he appointed a Manichean-Tzedek to be his successor Emir Tashik of Quraysh.

The Quranic Materials

Together with Abu Turab and Salman of Fars he devised some religious materials in the voice of Archangel Michael for the Manichean-Tzedekim. These materials were assembled into a religious Tome by the next ruler, a Manichean-Tzedek called Emir Tashik.

The new Emir Tashik had all of Mahmet's lectures gathered together and redacted into a new Quraysh religious Tome, sending a copy to Pope Martin while ordering all of the original religious materials (Injeel, Miqra lectures etc.) to be destroyed. This caused great unrest leading to his assassination and a civil war in the Empire which lasted for 36 years.

After the civil war, Abdul Malik promoted the idea that Emir Ambrus and Emir Tashik were actually just developing an idea which had originated with Ibn Abi Kabsha who had taught their Tzedek Predecessor in the Hijaz.
