His Father Clopas is said to have had a brother called Joseph but this might refer to his brother in law Joses ben Pandera the father of Yemakh Shmo Ben Stada. He fought against the feasts of the Notzrim and got them to observe feasts of HaShem appropriately under new names.

Jacob Tam]] expressed his belief that '''Simon CaIaphas''', the first Patriarch of Jerusalem, "was a devout and learned Jew, who dedicated his life to guiding [http://godfearers.com/index.php/Notzrim Heretics] along the proper path.  R.
