Abimelech's friendly group of Hebrew-speaking Philistines from עוא (Ioa) near Gaza who by the time of Israel's Exodus from Egypt were conquered by the dwarf Caphtorim. She was later rescued by Telegonus the Phoenician. Io's remnant are subsequently mentioned as an influence among Pharaohs like Tao 2 and Kamose of Egypt's 17th dynasty; also in 2 Kings 17:31 as being settled by the Assyrians in Samaria. They are responsible for the presence of one of the E-M35 Y-chromosomal Haplogroups among modern Jews.
