The Horite people of Lotan (Apep/Geb son of Shu/Seir) were sworn enemies of El-Ra (and originally Set too) though originators of the Horus King Pharaohs of Mitzraim they were conquered by the Edomites.
Horus (the elder) was one of the sons of Geb (Apep/Lotan) including along with Set, and Osiris. Apep attacked El-Ra, but was defeated by Set the servant of Ra. In time Horus and Osiris took over the role of Ra, and Set came to be associated with the Apep. Akhenaten tried to restore the ancient religion of El-Ra but failed.
