The '''Horites''' were the Horus King Pharaohs descended from Horus son of Lotan/Apep/Geb son of Shu/Seir. They were originally enemies of El-Ra (and therefore their Set brethren too) but were eventually conquered by the Edomites. Horus (the elder) was one of the sons of Geb (Apep/Lotan) including along with Set, and Osiris. Apep attacked El-Ra, but was defeated by Set the servant of Ra. They were originally enemies of El-Ra (and therefore their Set brethren too) but were eventually conquered by the Edomites. In time Horus and Osiris took over the role of Ra, and Set came to be associated with the Apep. Akhenaten tried to restore the ancient religion of El-Ra but failed.
