Shalmite (or Slamai) aka Muslamai comes from the word used by Onkelos for Kenites (one of the 10 nations listed in Genesis 15:19) in his Targumim to refer to Meshulamim i.e. the [[Erev Rav]] who have accompanied the Jews since the exodus. There are two main categories of Muslamai:
#[[Chokhmei Umot HaOlam]] who do not believe in Judaism.
#[[Hasidei Umot HaOlam]] who subscribe to a system of belief in Judaism which was established by the Chazal when the Jubilee was in effect (i.e. before 135CE).

The verse reads:

אֶת־הַקֵּינִי֙ וְאֶת־הַקְּנִזִּ֔י וְאֵ֖ת הַקַּדְמֹנִֽי׃

the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites,

Besides Refiim (translated as גיבריא meaning strong ones) Targum Onkelos directly translates the rest of them as their names, except for Kenites which he translates as שלמאי. Targum Jonathan translates it as שלמיא. Rashi says this verse is referring to Edom, Moav, and Amon while the Chizkuni says they're Amon.
