Nowruz is the name of a celebration in the Iranian calendar celebrated by Iranian people every year. Nowruz marks the first day of spring and the beginning of the year in the Iranian calendar. It occurs on the 21st of March.

I like this celebration.

Last year in my family I should prepare the begining of this celebration. One week before Nowruz I bought everything that I needed. For the Nowruz table I should put 7 plates with names beginning with *S*. Sumac, Serkeh (vinegar), Sib (apple), Samanoo (consisting of germinating wheat), Sekeh (coin), Sabzeh (grass), and Sir (garlic). Also I should put the holy Quran, a mirror, an egg, and a tray. After I set the table we are ready for the new year. New year started at 20:45:30. All of my family sat around the table and made a wish. After the begining of the new year we thank and wish the best for eachother. As per custom everyone in the family comes to meet each other. Because my father is an old man at first all of our relatives come to our house and say happy new year to each other. After all of them come to our house we go to their houses as well.

It is a custom that the first dinner should be fish and rice. Also all people put on new clothes. I hope that I do this ceremony in the UK this year!
