The word Genie comes from Jinn, the guardian spirits in Phoenician mythology. The word Genome and Genius are from the same root. According to the Quran they are describes as being made from مارج seeming to mean plasma.

According to the sources, genies once claimed to be a class of angels until God helped them realise that unlike angels they were unable to trust all of God's decisions. Thus they were confined to the planet Earth which they are permitted to rule as Caliphs.

The creatures of dark matter (حمإ) later visited the earth and were enticed by the Jinn to make a free choice to settle here despite better advice against it. The two races mixed and Insan as we are began to come into existence.
